When a lake side lot on Lake Kachess became available it seemed too good to be true for this Edmonds family. As water sport enthusiasts being just steps away from the clear waters of a mountain lake was more than appealing. Pair that with a 6 mile drive to near by Snoqualmie Pass for some alpine snow skiing and endless logging roads for snowmobiling during the winter months and the package was complete.
The only thing missing was a house that could capture the essence of the mountain surroundings and still feel like home back in Edmonds. The solution was to architecturally bring the outdoors inside by creating an indoor/outdoor fireplace as the centerpiece and using knotty alder cabinets and trim throughout the residence, then use softer textiles and traditional lighting to combine both lifestyles into one magnificent vacation spot.
The Henredon & Schoener team worked with these clients from the very first set of blueprints all the way to the sheets on the beds. Taking time on every step of the project to feel the essence of what the client was looking for but could not explain in detail. "Listening and transferring words to ideas is the core of how our business works, making sure all the details are covered is how we succeed", says Brian Schoener, project manager of Henredon & Schoener, and this mountain home was no different. |
